Love Lana Del Ray for H&M this Autumn!

Global singer-songwriter Lana Del Rey is the face and voice of H&M this Autumn

Lana Del Rey, one of the biggest names in music, will be the global face and voice of H&M this Autumn. Lana will star in a print campaign shot by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, as well as a full-length film of Lana singing a cover of “Blue Velvet”, shot by director Johan Renck.
This fully-plotted music video starring Lana will be available to see in its entirety at hm.com from September 20, with edited versions used as TV campaign. Throughout, Lana will be wearing the best of H&M’s Fall fashion in her own inimitable style. Lana will also star in a second print campaign later in the season, shot by Sølve Sundsbø and featuring the best of winter fashion.
“We are excited to have Lana Del Rey, the new star and style icon, as the face of our fall campaign. Lana is totally unique, and we wanted to create a print and film campaign that's just as special. The mood is very L.A. noir and is inspired by our Fall collection, which also fits with Lana’s own personal style. The commercial that accompanies the campaign is like a mini-film, with a fantastic plot and Lana performing a cover of “Blue Velvet”. There’s never been a TV commercial that’s looked anything like this.” Donald Schneider, Creative Director, H&M commented.

Lana became an instant worldwide star earlier this year with her single "Video Games” taken from the multimillion selling album "Born to Die", and is known globally for her distinctive personal style. For the print campaign, Lana wears the best of H&M’s fashion for Fall, from a pink angora blend sweater to printed leggings, a tweed biker jacket and a tweed figure-hugging faux leather trimmed dress. The film is a fully-plotted music video starring Lana as she sings “Blue Velvet”, which will be available to see in its entirety at hm.com from September 20, with edited versions used as a TV campaign. Lana will also star in a second print campaign later in the season, featuring the best of winter fashion. These collection is available online now and further items to be added at the end of October.
These are the pieces in the collection that I have bought or have on hold because they have already sold out!

This beautiful blazer, great for work or the evenings is only £24.99. The fluffy mini skirt that goes with it is £24.99 but I didn't go for this in the end as it is really short.

This fitted dress goes with the blazer. Although fitted, it actually hides any lumps and bumps as it is really stretchy and a tick material. Looks great with black tights and high heels for the sixties look. Dress was a bargain at only £19.99.

This sexy wool mint green jumper is £29.99. Very soft and snug. I got mine in a massive size so it would really slouch over my shoulder.

This gorgeous floral print features in a few pieces inthe range and pefect for Autumn. I love the way the top fits at the waist and folds out as I am an hourglass shape and blouse tops like this can ussually make me look bigger. Would look amazing with a pencil skirt. If you don't fancy this busy floral colour then they also do this top in black, cream and pink. The blouse is £14..99.

The print also comes in these leggings which look really pretty with the top above in the cream colour. They are really stretchy and comfy so fine for bigger sizes as sometimes H&M leggings come up so small. They are only £9.99.

This cream coat which has a long zip and fur lined hood is a real luxurious item and lightweight to wear over items but warm enough for the Autumn chill. Very flattering shape on. £34.99.

This gorgeous salmon pink fluffy jumper is so soft and sixties looking. £29.99 but worth it for a fashion statement.
Finally I will finish with these great nude, patent shoes. They remind me of the ones Kate Middleton has been constantly wearing at the moment from KC Bennett which are always sold out. These are a snip of the price at £24.99 and go with eveything. The insides are quite padded and comfy. Very high at 4 inches but love them.

I bought all of my H&M pieces online as I couldn't find any of the larger sizes in the shop in Oxford Street. Also they never have my shoe size 8 in any stores! So I find it easier to order like this and have it all delivered together. Great campaign with a really beautiful musician and love the sexy sixties vibe of the whole collection.

Nuage Manuka Honey Skincare Range Review

Now it is getting to Winter, I have been looking for a hydrating body and face cream that won't be too greasy/rich and is luxurious feeling at a good price. I have discovered the sweet smelling body and face cream range of Nuage Manuka Honey from Home Bargains and pharmacies, that is such an uplifting treat at this time of the year.

Funnily enough, when I am feeling run down I always have a spoonful of Manuka Honey which has antiseptic qualities so I was so pleased to see this in an actual skincare product.
Manuka Honey, which comes from New Zealand, has been valued for its healing properties for generations by New Zealand's indegenous tribespeople. This range has Manuka Honey UMP10+, plus active ingredients to provide intensive 48 hour moisturisation.

Nuage Manuka Honey 48hr Intensive Face Cream
RRP £9.99

When you apply the cream immediately you smell the divine honey scent and your skin feels soothed. I often get a red nose from rosacea in the Autumn/Winter and I found that using the face cream has really taken this redness away. The cream sinked in and was a great base for my make-up. I feel so irritable in these dark mornings and felt this really woke me up and left me fresh. I felt the cream was light enough to use around my eyes too.

Benefits-
  • Manuka Honey which is known to have an antibacterial effect ,(contains natural ingredients)
  • Paraben Free
  • Vitamin E
  • Shea Butter
  • Tego Smooth
  • Non greasy, soothing and gentle
  • Fast Absorbing
Nuage Manuka Honey Body Lotion RRP £5.99 for 150ml

I love this cream for all over and you can even get away with applying this on your face for an all in one product as the cream is fine for sensitive skin and so lightweight. As well as the honey, the creams contain Shea Butter, Vitamin E and TEGO® Smooth. Providing long lasting skin hydration, the range also enhances skin softness and elasticity.
I found the body cream easy to absorb and all day people were asking me what perfume I had on as it breathes out a delicate sweet scent once on for a while. It blended in well and got rid of my dry patches.
Really good for the gym where you want to apply cream on the go and can't wait about for it to dry for ages.

Benefits-
  • Manuka Honey which is known to have an antibacterial effect
  • Paraben Free
  • Vitamin E
  • Shea Butter
  • Tego Smooth

Here is some interesting facts about Manuka Honey:
Active Manuka Honey (also known as Healing Honey or Medicinal Honey) is only produced in New Zealand.
The New Zealand beekeepers position their hives in wild uncultivated areas close to the wild Manuka bushes. New Zealand is the only place in the world that the Manuka bush is found. Due to the positioning of the bee hives, the bees gather nectar from the flowers of the wild Manuka bush.
The honey making process is enriched by the pollution free environment of New Zealand. Whilst the Manuka Bush is native to New Zealand, it is part of the same species as the Kanuka Bush, Australian Tea Tree and Jellybush all of which been widely known for their unique health benefits for generations of local indigenous people including the Maori and Aboriginal tribes peoples.
The Active Manuka honey has been found to help skin conditions such as acne and eczema

Champneys Spa Stay at Henlow Review (Feature for STRUT Magazine)

Luxurious stay at Henlow Champneys

Extravagant Luxuries- Our STRUT Features Writer, Cat Quigley
 reviews Champneys Henlow

As soon as you drive up to Champneys Henlow, you feel that you are arriving at a luxurious and gracious place that is very welcoming. The Georgian mansion is set in the beautiful Bedfordshire countryside, hidden away from any noise, traffic and distraction.  The residential spa has been open for 50 years and was once occupied by Cistercian Monks who found peace there.

Front of House Reception
Beautiful Grounds as you drive into Champneys Henlow
I would say this Champneys has the best location for people looking for a quick getaway from urban living, as Henlow is under an hour from London and 45 minutes from Essex or Hertfordshire. When time is of the essence, it is an easy place to escape to and unwind.

Stunning Entrance

Inside Champneys reception

Celebrities adorn the walls giving their approval

Once you step inside the reception, you leave all worries at the door as you are greeted by a personal receptionist, who sits you down to go through your booking. Whilst your bags are brought to your room, the receptionist answers any questions that you may have and shows you what treatments you have booked or what classes you might like to take.
I loved the feeling of having people looking after me, every step of the way so that I could zone out into a state of relaxation as soon as I arrived The feel of the building is sheer luxury and coziness, with soft lighting from chandeliers, rich burgundy carpets, wooden staircases and graceful furniture that is comfy yet stately. Along the corridors you will see pictures of celebrities who have stayed at the health farm such as Joan Collins, Kate Moss and TV soap stars like Barbara Windsor who have given
their mark of approval.

With the rooms you can pick from a Standard, Superior Room, Premier Room or pure opulence with a Suite which is what we went for. The Suites are available with either double or twin beds. The Suite is situated in the Main House and super close to all the facilities so you feel like you are at home with everything. The decor is grand and luxe but not so intimidating that you can't relax.

Amazing lounge room with your own dining table and settee
Great touches like magazines, Sky TV and fresh fruit make the Suite worth booking
You have two rooms in the Suite (Bedroom area and lounge area) to relax in. The lounge overlooks the front of resort and the bedroom has views overlooking a waterfall.
I loved the little touches in the rooms, like the water crystal jug and decadent lampshades.

The bathroom is luxurious marble with Champneys goodies included.
There is a giant bath with a TV in the wall for that rock star feeling and a walk-in shower.

In the Suite you get:
  • Still and sparkling mineral water on arrival and is replenished daily
  • Shawl collar gold embrioded towelling robe to wear
  • Slippers
  • Fresh fruit on arrival
  • Daily newspaper
  • Daily maid service and nightly turndown
  • Located in prime area of the resort
  • Flat screen TV
  • Sky Sports
  • DVD player
  • Tea and coffee making facilities
  • Towels
  • Mini toiletries
  • Hairdryer
  • Dressing table
  • Rain macs
The bedroom reminded me of the film Dangerous Liaisons, as there were rich fabrics, plush decor and elegance. The bed was huge and really comfy with another TV opposite it so you could never get bored. The  rooms are light and airy and have a Laura Ashley homely feel to them.
Comfy bed fit for a Queen
Cosy room with all the mod cons
Outside of my window, I had a lovely view of the River Hiz that flows nearby, which was very soothing.

Stunning views outside my window

In your room you receive a dressing gown and slippers, which people wear around the spa, except for dinner in the evening, where casual dress is fine.
A comfy dressing gown and slippers are all you need
For an overnight stay, arrival is 2pm and departure is 4pm. You get full use of the facilities which include use of the sauna and steam room, 25-metre indoor swimming pool, gymnasium, tennis court and bicycles. The swimming pool is big enough that you can swim to your heart's delight all day without being disturbed by other spa goers. There is also a large jacuzzi, great for getting your hen girls together for a chat. The loungers are what caught me out, as I read some magazines and dozed off as the sun poured through the large windows. It really felt as if I was abroad in the Med.

Large jacuzzi, ideal for groups
Vast pool area, warm enough to be comfortable swimming

The Classes are varied- I enjoyed a fun Zumba class, a (keep your hair dry) Aqua Fit and a tranquil Relaxation class which left me floating. I loved the diversity and choice on offer for fitness and felt like I had a proper getaway. I also hired a bicycle and took a tour into the local town, but soon came back as I missed my fluffy dressing gown.

Easy to use gym available

Food-wise, there are nutritious balanced meals are included in your package. My favourite meal, the buffet style lunch, included every type of hot food and salad that you could imagine; I am ashamed to say I piled my plate high and devoured the lot. I just had to try a bit of everything!

Lunch is the best meal laid out buffet style
Dinner is more formal, so wear smart clothes

I loved the feeling of the evening restaurant as if you were really being treated. If you ever want to come on your own there is a communal table there, which I have heard is quite the conversational table. I was happy that the dessert choice was naughty but still nice in calories and content. Then breakfast was quite basic, but you did have the choice of purchasing a hot one if you wanted. You don’t feel starved or under pressure to have all healthy food as there are many daily options to choose from and you can purchase wine if you wish, which was lovely with the evening meal for a well-earned chill out from the day’s activities.

Meals were well earned with daytime activities

For a treatment, I picked the Mediterranean Bliss Stone Indulgence treatment out of eighty indulgent spa therapies on offer. I wanted something different that was going to revitalise as well as relax me, as often massages are lovely but send me into a lazy slumber and I really wanted to enjoy my weekend away. The treatment with my lovely therapist Maydel, started with a full body exfoliation that sloughed off my dead skin cells and made my skin feel amazingly soft. I then had a wonderful hot stone massage using the indulgent Mediterranean spa ingredients of fig milk, green tomato and olive. The massage used a reviving aromatherapy oil to uplift the senses whilst the heat of the stones melted away my tension and made me feel relaxed and refreshed. The scent was divine and my skin was glowing. This treatment lasted 55 minutes and costs £65. There are so many other treatments to pick from that you are spoilt for choice. Henlow also offers some unusual exclusive treatments such as the Paraffin Wax Bath, Hypnotherapy and Chinese Body Therapy.

Comfy waiting room for treatments
Treatment room clean and professional

I would definitely come back to this Champneys and found this place great for going in a couple but equally would be a great girly break as their personal touch makes you feel really special. The accommodation is so inviting that you feel really at home straight away and great to recharge your batteries in the beautiful surroundings around the mansion.  For my next stay here, I will definitely be booking onto the fantastic boot camps that they do here. I have heard great things from some residents who were on one of the courses during my stay.  The camps enjoy a mix of group activities and exercise, fantastic cuisine and of course a little pampering. With an average weight loss of 6.3 lbs and an average inch loss of 4.5 inches, these Boot Camps are a great way to get fit, have fun
and see great results!

With all the latest fitness trends, pampering spa therapies and delicious cuisine, there’s plenty to refresh and energize mind and body. For more information visit www.champneys.com
